PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a Special Election of the Sparkill-Palisades Fire District will take place on April 8, 2025, between the hours of 6:00 P.M. and 9:00 P.M. at the firehouse located at Route 340, Sparkill, New York for the following purpose:

Shall the Board Resolution entitled:

“RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS OF THE SPARKILL-PALISADES FIRE DISTRICT OF THE TOWN OF ORANGETOWN, COUNTY OF ROCKLAND, STATE OF NEW YORK TO FINANCE THE PURCHASE OF A 2025 FOUTS BROTHERS FB-94 PUMPER AND EQUIPMENT APPURTENANT THERETO FROM BULLDOG FIRE APPARATUS, UTILIZING HGAC CONTRACT, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $743,521.00 AND ENTERING INTO AN INSTALLMENT PURCHASE CONTRACT WITH M & T BANK PURSUANT TO GENERAL MUNICIPAL LAW 109-b AND LOCAL FINANCE LAWS AND IRC TO FINANCE $550,000.00 OVER A PERIOD OF TEN (10) YEARS AT NOMINAL ANNUAL INTEREST RATE OF 4.976% PER ANNUM AND YEARLY PAYMENTS OF PRINCIPAL AND INTEREST IN THE AMOUNT OF $71,542.87.” BE APPROVED?

All residents of the Sparkill-Palisades Fire District, who are duly registered to vote with the Rockland County Board of Elections on or before March 17, 2025 shall be entitled to vote at this election.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to a resolution of the Town Board of the Town of Orangetown, duly adopted at a meeting held on July 9, 2024, a public hearing will be held by the Town Board on September 24, 2024 at 7:05 pm, on a proposed Local Law, amending Chapter 43, § 2.2, establishing the Town Zoning Map, to change the zoning district of the parcels located at 676 & 680 Western Hwy, Blauvelt (70.05-1-14.1, 14.2 & 17.1) from “R80” (Rural Residence) to “R15” (Medium Density Residential).

At the time and place of the public hearing specified above, all interested persons will be given the opportunity to be heard.
