BOARD OF REVIEW – MEETING OF MAY 3, 2018

Andrew Andrews, Chairman, called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
Mr. Andrews read the agenda. Hearings as listed on this meeting’s agenda which are made a part of these minutes were held as noted below.

Review of Sign Plan Approved as
170 East Erie Street, Blauvelt Presented

Other Business: Subaru Service Building; Roof top equipment screening; ACABOR #17-09, Section 70.14, Block 4, Lot 12, April 20, 2017. The Board continued the hearing from the April 19, 2018 meeting, in which revised plans and material information were requested. Gary Garrett, a representative of Subaru, submitted screening information for the mechanical equipment on the building roof top. The provided plan was prepared by Degiaimo Group Architects; sheet A-3.0, Proposed Exterior Elevations, dated February 21, 2017, last revised March 23, 2018. The applicant also submitted a copy of a catalog offering the colors and types of screening, Louver Products Catalog; Architectural Louvers. The Board found that the roof top screening would be Dove Grey color, or equal. The applicant also noted that due to the size and weight of the roof top mechanicals, the units needed to be spread out over the surface of the roof, rather than in the center as requested by the Board. The Board approved the proposed roof top screening and location of the mechanicals, as presented.
A motion was made to adjourn the meeting by Deborah Stuhlweissenburg and seconded by Andrew Andrews and agreed by all in attendance at 8:30 p.m. The Decisions on the above hearings, which Decisions are made by the Board before the conclusion of the meeting, are mailed to the applicant. RE: Greater Hudson Bank Sign Plan: The application of Greater Hudson Bank, applicant for 170 East Erie Street, LLC, owner, for the review of a Sign Plan at a site to be known as “Greater Hudson Bank Sign Plan”, in accordance with Article 16 of the Town Law of the State of New York and Chapter 2 of the Code of the Town of Orangetown. The site is located at 170 Route 303, Orangeburg, Town of Orangetown, Rockland County, New York, and as shown on the Orangetown Tax Map as Section 70.14, Block 4, Lot 10 in the
CC zoning district.
Heard by the Architecture and Community Appearance Board of Review of the Town of Orangetown at a meeting held Thursday, May 3, 2018, at which time the Board made the following determinations:
Robin Foley appeared and testified. The Board received the following items:
- Copy of a location map noting the placement of the proposed sign on the building.
- A copy of the proposed Sign, prepared by Foley Sign Shop; Wall Sign.
- Material Specification Sheet, signed by Robin Foley, dated April 18, 2018.
- A copy of the Building Permit Referral dated February 23, 2018 signed by Building Inspector Glenn Maier.
FINDINGS OF FACT:
- The Board found that the proposed wall signage would consist of the following:
- Light box sign, internally illuminated with LED lights.
- The dimensions of the sign are as follows: 48” height by 108” width by 8” deep.
- The sign face would be white Acrylic with the Bank logo in Blue, as noted on the submitted plan.
- The Sign would be affixed to the exterior wall

There being no one to be heard from the public, the Public Hearing portion of the meeting was closed.
DECISION: In view of the foregoing and the testimony before the Board, the application was Approved as Presented.
The foregoing resolution was presented and moved by Shirley Goebel Christie,
and seconded Katie Beckmann and carried as follows: Andrew Andrews, Chairman, aye; Brian Terry, absent; Brian Aitcheson, aye and Deborah Stuhlweissenburg, aye; Katie Beckmann, aye; Chris Dunnigan, absent and Shirley Goebel Christie, aye.
The Clerk to the Board is hereby authorized, directed and empowered to sign this Decision and file a certified copy in the Office of the Town Clerk and the Office of the Architecture and Community Appearance Board of Review.
