Industrial Use Committee
Establishment and membership. There shall be an Industrial Use Committee of five members. The members shall consist of i) the Commissioner of Orangetown’s Department of Environmental Management and Engineering (“DEME”), who shall serve at its Chairperson, ii) Orangetown’s Chief Fire Safety Inspector, iii) the Director of Orangetown’s Office of Building, Zoning and Planning Administration and Enforcement (“OBZPAE”), iv) Orangetown’s Public Health Engineer, and v) the Deputy Commissioner of DEME or his or her designee who shall be a member of DEME staff.
The IUC is authorized and empowered to review applications requesting a determination for conformance to the performance standards for uses, operations and occupancies subject to performance standards (§ 4.1), pursuant to the procedures set forth herein. The IUC shall also be responsible for review of an alleged noncompliance with the performance standards by an industrial user to determine whether remedial action is necessary and to bring the industrial user into compliance with the applicable performance standard(s), which review shall include the approval of remedial action, as necessary.
