Immediate Release – April 14, 2023
At the Regular Town Board Meeting on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, the Town of Orangetown unanimously approved Resolution No. 209:
Opposing the discharge of contaminated water from Indian Point into the Hudson River and urging the NYS Legislature to support bill S.5181, co-sponsored by Senator Bill Weber and bill A.5338, co-sponsored by Assemblyman John McGowan, to amend the Environmental Conservation Law to prohibit the discharge of any radiological agent into the waters of the State.
The Orangetown Town Board urges both the New York State Senate and Assembly to pass their respective bills, and encourages the Governor to sign such legislation.
