NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, pursuant to resolution of the Town Board of the Town of Orangetown, duly adopted at a meeting held on September 17, 2019, a public hearing will be held before the Town Board, on the 1st day of October, 2019, at 7:35 P.M., at Town Hall, 26 Orangeburg Rd., Orangeburg, New York 10962, to consider the adoption of a local law, amending the Town Code of the Town of Orangetown, by adding a new Chapter 7C, entitled Community Choice Aggregation Program. The Town Board, pursuant to the State of New York and the Public Service Commission framework, will be empowered to select the source of electricity and/or natural gas supply on behalf of its residents and small businesses, reflecting local resources, priorities and challenges. Energy delivery shall remain the responsibility of the Distribution Utility (i.e., Orange & Rockland Utilities).
A copy of the proposed Local Law may be examined by any interested party at the Office of the Town Clerk and is available for review on the Town of Orangetown website at Orangetown.com.
At the time of the hearing, all interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard.
