l TOWN & COUNTY TAXES will be available to View or Pay online Effective January 1st.
l SCHOOL TAXES will be available to View or Pay online Effective September 1st.
You can pay your Taxes by Mail, Online, In-person or drop off in our Secured Drop Box. Please provide the Receiver’s Stub (located at the bottom of the tax bill) and put your Phone number on your check. We’ve had so many issues with checks written incorrectly that it is hard to find a telephone number if it isn’t provided to us.
CASH PAYMENT – Must be the EXACT AMOUNT – NO CHANGE CAN BE MADE. CASH and/or CREDIT CARD PAYMENT will be accepted at the Town Clerk’s window. We have a Secured Drop Box located just inside the Entrance door of Town Hall during tax collection 7:00am – 7:00pm, Mon-Fri. DO NOT PUT CASH IN THE DROP BOX.
Office will be closed in observance of the following Holidays:

- Martin Luther King Jr. – Monday, Jan. 15th
- Presidents’ Day – Monday, Feb. 19th
- Memorial Day – Monday, May 27th
- Independence Day – Thursday, July 4th
- Labor Day – Monday, Sept. 2nd
- Columbus Day – Monday, Oct. 14th
- Veteran’s Day – Monday, Nov. 11th
- Thanksgiving Holiday – Thursday, Nov. 28th & Friday, Nov. 29th
- Christmas Holiday – Wednesday, Dec. 25th & Thursday Dec. 26th
TAX COLLECTIONS
State, Town & County Taxes are collected between January 1st – January 31st
- 1% Penalty will apply to your Tax Bill for payment made between February 1st – 29th.
- 2% Penalty will apply to your Tax Bill for payment made between March 1st – 31st.
The Town & County Tax Collection will close at midnight on March 31st. All late payments MUST be received on or before the due date. Postmarks will not be accepted.
School Taxes are collected between September 1st – September 30th
- 5% Penalty will apply to your Tax Bill for payment made between October 1st – 31st.

* If you are paying your taxes after the first month of collection (with Penalties), Mail your Check and Receiver’s Stub to: Town of Orangetown, Rosanna Sfraga, Town Clerk’s Office, 26 W. Orangeburg Road, Orangeburg, NY 10962 and NOT to Binghamton address.

*There is a CONVENIENCE FEE added to your payment using one of the following forms of payment. This Fee is collected by the payment processor and NOT the Town of Orangetown.
A) Pay ONLINE with CHECKING ACCOUNT (e-check): $0.75 cent FLAT FEE* added to your payment. Make sure to have your Bank Routing Number and Checking Account Number handy.
B) Pay ONLINE or IN-PERSON with VISA DEBIT CARD ONLY: $3.95 FLAT FEE* added to your payment.
C) Pay ONLINE or IN-PERSON with ALL OTHER DEBIT CARDS: 1.50% FEE* added to your payment.
D) Pay ONLINE or IN-PERSON with any of these CREDIT CARDS; American Express, Discover, Mastercard or Visa Credit Card: 2.45% FEE* added to
your payment.
Your cashed check is your receipt as well as going online to View/Print your “Paid Receipt” after 36 hours of payment. If you do not have access to a computer, please call our office and request a receipt by mail.
Once we close our Tax Collection, you can pay delinquent taxes or your quarterly taxes (2nd, 3rd and 4th) payment to the Rockland County Finance Department. Click on the Link below.

All powers and duties of the office, as well as collection procedures are statutory and defined in the NYS Real Property Tax Law.
